I'm a Mormon

Striving to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ is something that we must do everyday. There are many ways in which we can accomplish this, I am going to start my goal of living a more Christ centered life by not being ashamed to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  My attempt to show this is by creating this page on my blog and by creating my mormon.org profile. I also hope that this could be a potential missionary tool and will be recording my thoughts, feelings, impressions, and testimony pertaining to the church. Here is my profile from Mormon.org.....

Hi I'm StephanieHi I'm Stephanie

About Me

I am recently married and am expecting my first child in January. I work on call at the hospital in the physical therapy department and am working my way through school. I have lived in Montana for the majority of my life and I love everything about it. It is one of the most beautiful places in the world and I am so grateful that God has created it. When I am not busy with daily life activities I enjoy spending time with my husband and family. There is nothing more important to me then them. We enjoy a variety of activities that rang from movie parties to hiking, camping, fishing, hunting, and just generally playing in the mountains. I also love to run and spend time playing or watching sports.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I need all the help that I can get in this life to be the best that I can be. There is no other guideline greater than the standards of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to help me to be that person. Times are rapidly changing and there is evil all around us. The prophet, President Thomas S. Monson, receives revelations that pertain to us today. I believe in all the teachings of the bible but I do know that the modern revelations we receive each day pertain specifically to us. Being a Mormon makes me happy. I lived for a few years without the Gospel in my life and it was a dark world, sure I had fun but I never experienced true joy. The church is true without a doubt. I can feel it within me and I can feel the good person I strive to be flourishing as I live the teachings. The Book of Mormon is true. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that the revelations and visions he saw did occur. The atonement is real. It has changed my life on multiply occasions and will continue to help me improve. The power of prayer is real. I can feel the love of God around me each time I kneel in pray.

Personal Stories

How has the Holy Ghost helped you?

The Holy Ghost has helped in me in so many ways that i cannot count them all. One experience really sticks out to me in particular. I was driving back to town after taking care of my horse. I was in a hurry and was driving faster than I should. I felt slightly guilty about it but I figured its just once, What could it hurt? That's when the phrase from the commandments that states "Obey the laws of the land" came into my mind. I decided at that time i should slow down to the speed limit. Not even a minute after making that decision a car crashed right in front of me at highway speeds. If I had still been speeding, the car would have hit me and i don't believe that I would still be on this earth today. I know that the only way that phrase came to mind at that exact moment was through the power of the Holy Ghost. Sure I had read it several times during scripture study but it was the Holy Ghost that helped me to recall it and to encourage me to live by it.

How I live my faith
I strive to live my faith daily through example. I strive to never judge others and to accept them for who they are just as Christ does. I work hard to be kind to others and greet them politely. I pray daily on my own and with my family. I read The Book of Mormon every night with my husband and try to take something new away from it each day. I try to not be ashamed of the gospel and let others know what I believe and where I stand with my morals and values. I have had the opportunity to teach primary to the 4-5 year old age group. It brings me great joy seeing the Gospel come to life for them and to see the glow in their faces as they learn to understand the Gospel and its teachings. On most occasions they teach me more about becoming more child like than I ever am able to teach them.
